Geraldine begin The Questing Feast years ago when blogging was in its infancy. In matter of fact, this site was begun so long ago that the original files are still on archived floppy disks in DreamWeaver!
She started it as a way to share the recipes and adventures of her many trips abroad. Today, there are many websites featuring international cooking. When The Questing Feast started, it was one of a very few.
During the final months of her battle with lung cancer, Geraldine tasked her daughter, D. Leilehua Yuen (also a food writer), with taking on the website. It is a monumental and ongoing project. Geraldine wrote actively for over 40 years. When the website crashed, a decision was made to not just re-load the old (and corrupted) files, but to include Geraldine’s newspaper clippings, family stories, and other items of interest.
As Geraldine would say, “Thanks oodles” for your interest in supporting her legacy in documenting and teaching the homely cooking of California and the British Isles. She was a prolific writer, and we hope her work will continue to teach and inspire.
To do this, we have created a Questing Feast Patreon page. There are different sponsorship levels, and as the books are published, depending on level, patrons receive premiums ranging from pdf downloads of the book to sourdough starter, to coffee cups, to the books themselves.
We recently re-published Frontier Sourdough, a history of sourdough bread in her family, and over 100 recipes for bread and things to have with it. Check it out!
The next book scheduled for a second edition is A is for Coda-Wada, a biographical cookbook that takes one through vegetable recipes A-Z.
After that, we will be working with The Living History Center to edit and re-release the delightful series of chapbooks she wrote and illustrated for them.
We also find on an old hard drive a lovely adventure story in the tradition of The Hobbit and The Wind in the Willows. We hope to publish Barclay, Bob, And the Baroness in time for Christmas giving. Join The Questing Feast on Patreon to get early chapters, recipes, and to see the editing process.

Ok, that $890.00 for Valley of Zin is just plain dumb. I have no idea why that is happening. Don’t buy it.
